Meet Your Hosts

When I was 39, my husband and I picked up and moved with our 2 kids from Texas, site unseen, to Costa Rica, in 2008. We love it here. But, healing is a bit more difficult than it is in the states. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's, while living here, but I believe I was undiagnosed Hypothyroid, my entire life. Not to mention I've probably and unfortunately, had hormonal imbalances, since my teens as well. I was put on Levothyroxine and didn't question it. I just trusted the doctor. Until it made me worse and my adrenals crashed.  I started researching and learned that I couldn't get a T4/T3 med or even any T3, in the entire country. Eventually after finding a naturopath to treat me from the states, I started Thyroid Nation, to try to raise awareness. Like so many others, I am currently on my healing journey, but I smile every day. This blog, the amazing people I have met and this new path, are my silver lining to this infuriating and enlightening disease. 🙂  Pura Vida!

I am 45 years evolving and mom of four, fabulous miracles, living in a small rural town in sunny California. I was born to a hypothyroid Hashimoto mother and hypothyroid father and was myself officially diagnosed with Hashimoto's in 2010 and then hypothyroid in 2013. I’m a fervent medical researcher, born out of multiple health issues starting in early childhood, and fueled by an illness that I watched consume my mother. Working as a patient/physician liaison is very gratifying, as you inevitably alter the physician when you educate and empower the patient. I’m a guardian of medicine in the true meaning, ‘Art of Healing’, which cares for the person as a dynamic integrative system and a perpetual nature lover who is evermore seeking enlightenment. You’ll often find me on Saturdays sharing wit, wisdom and wares at the Joshua Tree Farmers Market. Wishing you wellness! Follow Tiffany at her website, on Facebook and Twitter.
