Must Read Thyroid BOOKS

 MUST Thyroid Read Books

These have helped me immensely along my journey. Maybe they can help guide and assist you, too!

Thyroid – Hypothyroidism – Autoimmune – Hashimoto’s – Adrenals – Graves’ –  Hyperthyroidism – Nutrition – Diet – Hormones -Vitamins

Reading was the last thing I had energy for, when I was first diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s several years ago. But, I knew that I needed more information from reliable sources that I couldn’t find on the internet. So, I took baby steps.

And, unfortunately, or fortunately, however you want to look at it, I’m a Texan, living in Costa Rica, meaning I have little means of accessing some of the top healing books or any thyroid books, for that matter. I was literally, unable to run to the nearest bookstore (with english language) or Barnes & Noble, or even order from Amazon. Frustration doesn’t even begin to explain the despair I felt, knowing there was information available to me but, I couldn’t go out and buy any of them. The Kindle wasn’t even a household name, like it is now, much less, the Kindle App for other devices. My how technology has changed.

Eventually, as time passed, I reached out to the author of one of my NOW favorite thyroid books, Dr. Izabella Wentz, and asked her if there was going to be a Kindle version of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: Lifestyle Interventions for Finding and Treating the Root Cause. At the time, she was in development mode of the app version of the book. After realizing my extreme dilema and knowing that I was desperate, she sent me another form of the book, that I could download and read. Did I mention, she is the best?! 🙂 Her book changed the way I looked at my diagnosis and how I was going to go about tackling it…..One step at a time. Not to mention, the book opened my eyes and gave me a term for what I was needing to do next. Dig at my ROOT cause. This book had a prominent affect on the way I was going to heal my thyroid, or die trying.

Next, to the rescue, was Stacey Robbins and her wildly informative, laugh out loud, deeply moving, real deal, raw look at yourself, through thyroid disease in You’re Not Crazy And You’re Not Alone: Losing the Victim, Finding Your Sense of Humor, and Learning to Love Yourself Through Hashimoto’s. You’re Not Crazy And You’re Not Alone
by Stacey Robbins

Stacey is the “Real Deal”! At least that is my nickname for her. Want a friend to listen to the good, the bad and the ugly and not be judgmental? Need a person to hold your hand while dealing with horrible health news? Longing for someone who isn’t going to blow smoke up your ass, about anything? She’s your gal.

I was privileged to read Stacey’s book, early on in my Hashimotos journey. For that fact alone, I am very grateful. Now it is like my go-to, inspirational and down-to-earth, health bible and spiritual guide. It is just one of those books that you really don’t want to loan to anyone, because you refer to it and use it so often. :) You can pick it up, start on any chapter and immediately feel comforted. A few pages, is sometimes all I need. Other times, I catch myself re-reading 2 or 3 chapters, before I realize what time it is. With raw, radiating realness the pages fly by. I laugh hysterically and then I stop and read it to my husband and then we laugh all over again. Needless to say, I keep it close at hand.

The book is laid out so wonderfully, and is so brilliantly written, that you don’t WANT to put it down. (which I didn’t)

Her book doesn’t have any fancy medical jargon, although it is very apparent that Stacey is well-versed on all things Hashimoto’s and thyroid related. She’s been through it all and she allows you to walk hand-in-hand with her, along her journey as she effortlessly tells stories of sorrows and joy. It is a must have for any thyroid sufferer, or anyone who wants to laugh. Truly. What an amazing storyteller she is. Thank you, my friend.
